The Act was created in 1973 to provide protection for endangered animals. It was also to ensure that the population of endangered species grew. When the act was created the entire congress of the United States of America approved of the creation of the act. The act was passed because of a revolution on animal safety. Later Congress passed a very similar law, the United States Fish and Wildlife Services otherwise known as (the FWS)
